Welcome to the “KGGV Community Calendar,” I'm Julie Epona and this is where we discuss all of the exciting events happening within the watershed of the Russian River and a bit beyond.

Ongoing through November 10 The Guerneville Community Church is having a holiday nut sale, just in time for holiday baking, entertaining or gift-giving. Place your order with any church member. Ongoing West County Community Services serves lunch to seniors Monday through Friday at Noon three locations during the week: Mondays & Wednesdays at the St Phillips Church in Occidental / Wednesdays & Fridays at the Guerneville Senior Center / on Tuesdays lunch is in Forestville at the Methodist Church – the center asks for a nominal donation, no one is turned away for lack of funds. We have confirmed that, to date, the budget crisis in WDC has not adversely affected this lunch program. From October 16 – 28, the Russian River Senior Resource Center is getting a facelift. New paint & carpet, during this time all classes will be held at the Marshal House, behind the Russian River Center; however, lunch and bingo will be canceled in Guerneville from Oct 16-28 – lunch will resume on Wednesday, October 30th in the newly refurbished hall. This renovation is thanks to the generous donation by Stumptown Brewery. 707-869-0618
2nd & 4th Tuesdays 10a – Noon The Forestville Wellness Center is offering FREE Medicare counseling – a representative from Health insurance Counseling & Advocacy program will be available to assist you. The center is located at 6550 Front St, Forestville This center offers assistance for people wishing to enroll in the new Health Exchange under the Affordable Care Act. Every Friday @ Noon For more than 8 years, the People in Black have held a vigil for Peace on Fridays at Noon in downtown Guerneville. Rain or Shine, the People in Black stand in solidarity with non-violent protests worldwide at the fountain. Any one is welcome to join them on Fridays to wave, smile and broadcast peace.

After 6:30pm, advanced purchase ticket holders will continue to be admitted preferentially as long as there is room in the Hall. However, unclaimed seats may be re-sold to people in the regular waiting line. Failure to arrive on time does not qualify you for a refund.

On Friday, November 1, 2013, the Weekly Vigil will be followed by a walk (or drive) to the Guerneville Cemetery to clean up the grave sites and "Wake the Dead" with a picnic lunch.

Bring Your Bag Lunch, work gloves, trash bags, pruning shears, small rakes - we will pick up trash along the walk to the Pioneer Cemetery & Redwood Memorial Gardens.

Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome to join us.

On Friday, November 1, 2013, the Weekly Vigil will be followed by a walk (or drive) to the Guerneville Cemetery to clean up the grave sites and "Wake the Dead" with a picnic lunch.

Bring Your Bag Lunch, work gloves, trash bags, pruning shears, small rakes - we will pick up trash along the walk to the Pioneer Cemetery & Redwood Memorial Gardens.

Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome to join us.
